James A. Scimeca has a broad practice, assisting all lawyers in the firm with their cases as a researcher and writer.
A Tulsa native, Scimeca received a B.A. in journalism at the University of Oklahoma in 1981 and got his J.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1984. During law school, he clerked at a firm in Norman and joined it immediately after graduating from law school, doing general litigation.
Shortly thereafter, Scimeca left to join a firm focusing on oil and gas litigation. After three years, he joined another firm where he again did general litigation. For a time, one of the lawyers in that firm was Attorney Kelly George, co-founding partner of Burch, George & Germany, P.C., and he and Attorney James Scimeca remained in contact over the years.
In 2005, George asked Scimeca to join his firm to fill a support role for the other attorneys. Attorney James Scimeca accepted the offer and is serving a role that allows him to apply his legal-writing skills on a daily basis to support the entire office. He provides research skills and writes briefs and other reports and documents to aid litigation and also handles appellate work for the firm as well as for other Oklahoma lawyers seeking his assistance.
